Ingredients:
Each 30 drops (1 ml) contains Selectively Imported
Schisandra Berries (Schisandra chinensis), 333 mg in a base of

Schisandra shrub native to northern and northeast China, as
well as areas of Korea and Russia. The berries of Schisandra
chinensis are called wu wei zi in Chinese, translated as “five-

Indications:
Orally, schisandra is used as an adaptogen for increasing

Schisandra is also used mor many other health condirions,

improving cellular energy, for hepatitis, liver protection,
preventing premature aging, increasing lifespan, for
premenstrual syndrome (PMS), stimulating the immune
system, speeding recovery after surgery, protecting against
radiation, counteracting the effects of sugar, preventing
motion sickness, normalizing blood sugar and blood pressure,
reducing high cholesterol, preventing infection, improving
adrenal health, and energizing RNA-DNA to rebuild cells.
Schisandra is also used for coughs, asthma, insomnia,
neurasthenia, chronic diarrhea, dysentery, night sweats,
spontaneous sweating, involuntary seminal discharge, thirst,
impotence, physical exhaustion, excessive urination,
depression, irritability, and memory loss.
When it comes to evidence for these traditional claims,
recent research does seem to support its effect on enhancing
cognitive performance and improving liver function on
patients with hepatitis. Work is ongoing in areas from vision

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is an
endocrine disorder that affects approximately
5-10% of women of childbearing age. It is a
leading cause of infertility and is the most
common hormonal disorder among women
of reproductive age.
Women with PCOS have a hormonal
imbalance. Although the exact cause of PCOS
is unknown, insulin resistance, diabetes, and
obesity are all strongly correlated with the
syndrome.
Symptoms of PCOS include weight
problems, lack of regular ovulation and/or
menstruation, skin changes, small cysts (fluid-
filled sacs) in the ovaries, difficulty in getting
pregnant, and excessive amounts or effects of
androgenic (masculinizing) hormones.
PCOS cannot be prevented, and there is no
recognized cure. Early diagnosis and
treatment, however, may help in the
prevention of long-term complications, such
as endometrial cancer, infertility, diabetes,
high blood pressure, and heart disease.
Treatments are available to help control
symptoms, such as irregular menstrual cycles,
acne, and unwanted hair growth.
This study looked at a possible way to
reduce the effect of PCOS on development of
type 2 diabetes. In the study, 30 women with
PCOS took 1,500 mg of resveratrol per day or
a placebo.
After three months, women in the
resveratrol group saw a 23.1 percent decrease
in testosterone levels while the placebo group
had increased 2.9 percent. DHEAS, a
hormone in the body that converts to
testosterone, also decreased 22.1 percent for
resveratrol, while increasing 10.5 percent for
placebo.
While there was no improvement for
placebo, fasting insulin levels declined by
31.8 percent, and insulin sensitivity-the ability
of the body to use insulin to metabolize
glucose-increased 66.3 percent for
resveratrol.
Doctors said the findings suggest resveratrol
can decrease the chances of developing type
2 diabetes and other metabolic problems.
Resveratrol Helps Rebalance Hormones in
Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)
Please note that the dose of resveratrol
used was high 1,500 mg per day. This is
higher than most studies utilize.
Commercial resveratrol supplements range
from 10 mg to 250 mg per dose.

But bear in mind, a 4 oz glass of red wine
contains approximately 320 mcg of
resveratrol. That's micrograms, not
milligrams. 320 mcg is equal to 0.32 mg.
So, while the effect of 1,500 mg of
resveratrol on hormone levels and fasting
insulin levels on women suffering from
PCOS is very, very impressive, resveratrol at
this level is functioning as a drug, not a
nutritional supplement.
