The extract can be taken on a long term basis to increase one's
resistance to illness and help rebuild a strong immune response.
Elderberry also benefits the cardiovascular system. Those with
poor night vision will be helped by Elderberry, as it is thought to help
regenerate rhosopsin, the pigment in the retina that is responsible
for both the formation of the photoreceptor cells and the perception
of light, enabling the eyes to adapt to darkness.

Eleutherococcus 1:2
Also known as Siberian Ginseng, Eleutherococcus is an
adaptogenic, immuno-modulating herb.
Who will benefit from this herb? Those suffering from stress,
fatigue, burn out, and frequent colds brought on by stress.
Phyto-Tech Eleutherococcus 1:2 provides 500 mg./ml (30 drops) of
Eleuthero senticosis root.
As a true adaptogenic herb, it modulates how the body responds
to stress by being a hormonal tonic to the stress axis--the hypothala-
mus, pituitary, and adrenal glands. By enhancing the body's ability to
adapt to stress, the body can perform at a higher level. Too much
stress creates chemical changes in the body that create a host of
problems. Eleuthero prevents this from happening.
Eleuthrococcus is ideal for those who the more hot, stimulant gin-
sengs would be innapropriate, i.e. "those with passion and fire."
Eleuthero is not a true ginseng. It is the only non-heating ginseng, so
it is indicated for those who have an adverse effect from Chinese or
American ginseng, but still want what ginseng can do for them. It is
a great long-term tonic for those who simple do too much and want
to avoid burn out.
Caution: German Commission E recommends caution if you have
high blood pressure.
Dosage: 20-60 drops, 2-3 times a day, or as needed, in juice or
water. Consider it a Long-term tonic, and do not expect immediate
results (allow one to three months).

Eyebright 1:3
Historically, considered the "cure for all evils of the eye."
Who would benefit by using this herb? Those with hayfever, aller-
gies, respiratory congestion, sinus infections, allergic conjunctivitis
and allergic ear infections.
In other words, Eyebright can be considered environmental allergy
tonic.
Eyebright is widely used as a topical treatment for various eye con-
ditions, but due to concerns about potential microbial contamination
and hygenic problems, we do not recommend this. For eye prob-
lems, including blepharitis, conjunctivitis and styes, use it orally as an
adjunct to ophthalmic medication.

nalis), wild harvested, in a 1:3 ratio (333 mg/ml) (30 drops), in a
base of grain alcohol and purified water.

days.

Fenugreek 1:3
Fenugreek has been used to aid digestion, and as a general tonic.
Recent interest has focused on its apparent hypoglycemic actions.
Who might benefit by taking this herb? Those with Type 2 dia-
betes, high cholesterol, artherosclerosis, high triglycerides and diges-
tive problems.
According to Nutrition Focus, "Fenugreek seeds contain alkaloids
(mainly trigonelline) and protein high in lysine and L-tryptophan. Its
steroidal saponins (diosgenin, yamogenin, tigogenin, and neoti-
gogenin) and mucilaginous fiber are thought to account for many of
the beneficial effects of fenugreek. The steroidal saponins are
thought to inhibit cholesterol absorption and synthesis, while the
fiber may help lower blood sugar levels. One human study found
that fenugreek can help lower cholesterol and blood sugar levels in
people with moderate atherosclerosis and non-insulin-dependent
(type 2) diabetes. Preliminary and double-blind trials have found
that fenugreek helps improve blood sugar control in patients with
insulin-dependent (type 1) and non-insulin-dependent (type 2) dia-
betes. Double-blind trials have shown that fenugreek lowers elevat-
ed cholesterol and triglyceride levels in the blood, This has also been
found in a controlled clinical trial with diabetic patients with elevat-
ed cholesterol. Generally, fenugreek does not lower HDL (“good”)
cholesterol levels.
Fenugreek is commonly used as a food, spice and source of
dietary fiber throughout the world.
