Astragalus, Maitake, and Shiitake are well known for their ability to stimulate deep immunity. They are great for those prone to getting sick or those who have chronic immune deficiency that needs support. Astragalus contains polysaccharides, saponins, flavonoids, and phytosterols which contribute to its immune enhancing affects. It increases the number of stem cells in bone marrow and lymph tissue and encourages their development into active immune cells. One of the most active constituents in Maitake and Shiitake mushroom is believed to be a beta glucan polysaccharide that powers up the immune system. Beta glucan, which can also be derived from yeast, acts as a “biological defense modifier” to stimulate and modulate various immune responses. It has been heavily researched for its immune enhancing properties and its ability to activate macrophage immune cells, NK-Cells, T-Cells, B-Cells, and cytokines. A study from Harvard Medical School found animals treated with beta glucan were more resistant to bacterial, viral, and fungal inundation. Beta glucan treatment stimulated proliferation of white blood cells and increased phagocytic macrophage activity. A concentrated beta glucan extract is added to Immune Acute Complex to further increase the formula’s immune enhancing properties. Echinacea excites the immune system to fight off microbes before they dominate an organ system and create illness. Forsythia Fruit, Honeysuckle Flower, and Isatis Root are traditional Chinese herbs used to help the body to resolve illness and clear toxins. These herbs are powerful anti-virals and are extremely effective in the early stages of colds and flu. Licorice is added as an expectorant to thin mucus in the lungs to clear congestion. It brings down inflammation and soothes sore throats. Colloidal Silver has been used throughout history as an antibiotic and disinfectant. It destroys the enzymes responsible for oxygen metabolism in bacteria, viruses, and fungi, thus cutting off oxygen to these harmful pathogens and suffocating them.
