Many claims are made concerning the immune enhancing activity of various herbs and nutrients.
Few such claims are as well documented and supported by clinical evidence as are those surround-
ing the mushrooms and their constituents. For those in need of immune support, and those suffering
from serious health conditions, a mushroom extract should definitely be at the top of the list when it
comes to herbal and nutritional support.
Mushroom Extract Complex is indicated for immune deficiency and is considered especially valu-
able as a long-term tonic. It can be used as a preventative when one either wants to avoid or one
already finds they are getting weaker and becoming more prone to getting sick and fatigued. This is
especially true when stress is great and immune inundation is heavy. This formula helps when one
has debility and lethargy of body, mind and spirit.
Mushroom Extract Complex is a specific for chemotherapy where the white blood cell count and
activity (phagocytosis) is impaired or threatened. While the questions of whether or not it is benefi-
cial to take supplementation during cancer treatment remains controversial, the consensus of opin-
ion is moving towards the positive, and the benefits of adaptoglenic and immune enhancing herbs

These organic mushrooms are a glucoaminoglycan extracts (GAG) whereby the immuno-modulat-
ing polysaccharides are first extracted in a water extraction process. The herb then goes through an
alcohol extraction process to remove other immuno-modulating compounds that the water cannot
extract. The two liquids are combined to create a full spectrum mushroom extract.
Dosage: General usage: 20-60 drops, 2-3 times per day or as needed in juice or water.
More severe immune deficiency: 60-120 drops 2 times per day in juice or water.

Ashwagandha Root
Ashwagandha root, also known as winter cherry or Indian ginseng, is an important herb from the Ayurvedic or Indian system of medi-
cine. Ashwagandha has been traditionally used for the treatment of debility, emaciation, impotence, and premature aging. This dietary sup-
plement is used to enhance mental and physical performance, improve learning ability, and decrease stress and fatigue. Ashwagandha is a
general tonic to be used in stressful situations, especially insomnia, overwork, nervousness, and restlessness.(1)
Reishi Mushroom
Reishi mushroom is called the "mushroom of immortality" in China and has been used as a tonic and strengthening medicine for thou-
sands of years. Uses in traditional healing include increasing intellectual capacity and memory, promoting agility, and lengthening the life
span. Reishi is reported to have some of the most active polysaccharides in the plant kingdom. Polysaccharides are claimed to have
immunomodulating activity. Reishi is also reported beneficial as an antioxidant, antihypertensive, hypoglycemic, antiviral, and hepatopro-
tective agent.(1)
Shiitake Mushroom
Shiitake mushroom grows on the trunks or stumps of trees and has been used by the Chinese for centuries as a healing agent. The part
used medicinally is the mycelia or immature growing stage of the mushroom. Shiitake mycelia are rich in carbohydrates, protein, vitamins,
and minerals. Shiitake has been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for thousands of years as a medicinal agent. The polysaccharide/pro-
tein complex of the medicinal extract reportedly provides the immunomodulating activity of the mushroom.(1)
Maitake Mushroom
Maitake has been used both as a food and for medical purposes. Extracts of maitake mushroom have been associated with immune
enhancement and anti-tumor activity; more human studies are needed in these areas.(2)
Maitake mushroom contains chemicals which might help fight tumors and stimulate the immune system. There is some evidence that it
can lower blood pressure, improve cholesterol levels, lower blood sugar levels, and reduce weight in rats, but this has not been shown for
humans yet.
In 2009, a phase I/II human trial, conducted by Memorial Sloan–Kettering Cancer Center, showed Maitake could stimulate the immune
systems of breast cancer patients.(4) Small experiments with human cancer patients, have shown Maitake can stimulate immune system
cells, like NK cells.(5) In vitro research has also shown Maitake can stimulate immune system cells. An in vivo experiment showed that
Maitake could stimulate both the innate immune system and adaptive immune system.(3)
